Open House Update

Enclosed is our summer newsletter.  A couple of the items I found to be of particular interest…

“Global Economy…” Global diversification is something that we have been recommending for many years; ever since I started studying the works of the grandfather of global investing, Sir John Templeton.

“Somebody Out There is Saving for Retirement” I found it interesting that the total US retirement assets of $14.3 trillion at the end of 2005 was just $5 trillion over our $9 trillion national debt.

“Poor in Petrol, Rich in Vino” I’ve seen comparisons of gas prices with water, but this is the first time I have seen gas prices compared to wine, a much more meaningful comparison from my perspective.

I would like to thank everyone who came by for our open house.  We had about a hundred folks come through to visit our new digs, which made our function a huge success.  Congratulations to our raffle winners, Crystal Akazawa, Jan Mummert and Tom Reed.  Dr. Blane Lawton won the surprise $125 dollar gift certificate to A Day and Night Salon and Spa which was donated by the owner, our daughter, Lynda Walker.

We have some “give-aways” still available, so the next time you’re in ask for a letter opener, water bottle, can coosie or a jar of relish.  I also have a few sleeves of Titleists golf balls left for the golfers.

On Memorial Day we honored and remembered our armed forces personnel who have served and are serving in our military to preserve our freedom.  On the 4th of July let’s also remember our founding fathers who sacrificed in the very beginning to establish our freedoms.  Read the following to see what happened to the 56 men who signed our Declaration of Independence.  Let’s remember that freedom is never free.
