Cautiously Optimistic About 2005
Enclosed is our spring newsletter. Our Editor/President of
KMS has once again come up with some very timely and interesting topics for our
current newsletter.
It’s hard to believe that we are in the sixth year of the
new millennium. It seems like just yesterday we were debating the fears of Y2K
and if the three year bear market at the turn of the millennium would ever end.
Yet here we are having two really good years behind us and 2005 looking like it
will be a reasonable year for the markets. As mentioned in our last newsletter,
we are cautiously optimistic about 2005.
Some Thoughts on This Quarter’s Topics:
- Eastern Europe Showing Promise: Just
another example of why we use professional global managers who have
offices all over the world doing in depth analysis of each company that we
invest in.
- Dollars Decline: Currency
movements are not as big a concern when you have a globally diversified
portfolio.
- Withdrawal Mode: This just
points out once again that no one can predict the future with any
certainty and the best strategy is to review your portfolio and withdraw
needs on a regular basis.
- HSA’s: We believe this will be a
concept that will gain in popularity benefiting the young and healthy the
most, but for now the we haven’t seen substantial savings in the higher
deductible plans for our group clients.
- Hire My Spouse: This needs to be discussed with us and your CPA.
- Sales Tax Deduction: Be
sure to discuss this when preparing your taxes with your tax preparer this
year.
As usual we hope that you find our newsletter helpful and
informative.
If you have any questions on any of your financial planning,
investments or insurance needs just give us a call.
